Welcome to Nutritional Services!

Morongo USD knows that good nutrition and learning go hand in hand!

The Morongo Unified School District serves breakfast and lunch to ALL District students at no cost, regardless of income, through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Program.

While a meal application is not required to receive meal benefits, each household is required to submit the School Funding Data Collection Form to ensure the maximum funding is available for each of our schools and classrooms.

Please be aware that the new federal "Public Charge" law does NOT include any K-12 public school program, including the School Nutrition Program, does NOT constitute any receipt of "government aid" that would affect immigration status.

The Nutritional Services department is made up of a team of eighty-five food and nutrition professionals that are dedicated to providing superior quality food service to our students which includes:

  • Providing nutritious food choices that are tasty, appealing and popular to all students.
  • Preparing all food under safe and sanitary conditions.
  • Serving in a friendly and cheerful environment.
  • Keeping lines moving so our students may enjoy their meal time.
  • Making meals affordable to our students.

We support learning by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices.

Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. We provide students with access to a variety of affordable and appealing foods that meet the health and nutrition needs of students.

The National School Lunch and National School Breakfast Programs are federally funded to assist schools in providing nutritious breakfasts and lunches to school children.  The programs provide meals that contain 1/3 of the student's Recommended Dietary Allowance of the nutrients. The National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs are open to all enrolled students. Free meals are provided to all students who qualify for benefits according to specified family size and income requirements. In addition, we provide suppers to all students.
